Steps
1 | Setup
Step 1: Confirm inputs
Make sure you have a clear 1 page on the new AI policy. Everyone needs to be able to understand it before starting.
Take the HAP Profile cards. And spread them across the board ready for the session.
Step 2: Set up your canvas
On a board or large piece of paper, draw a table with the following headers:
Profiles
ABC notes
Key messages
Channel
Messenger
2 | Select profiles
Step 3: Rapid profile scan
Get everyone to review the profiles.
Everyone dots the cards that match people they work with weekly.
Keep the top three dotted cards (max three).
Document the top profiles on your canvas.
3 | Map fears & hooks
Step 4: Capture ABC notes
For each chosen profile, place three colour-coded stickies:
A Fear (red) “What makes them resist?”
B Benefit (green) “What motivates them?”
C Tone avoid (yellow) “Words to skip?”
Stick notes beside the profile card for easy reference.
4 | Draft messages
Step 5: Write the message
Pairs handle one profile:
Validate expertise (use Fear note).
Benefit they care about (green note).
Choice CTA (“Try X once this week”).
Limit to 40 words. Add draft to your canvas
5 | Reactance check
Step 6: Stamp for fit
Read each draft aloud. Add the three stickers:
✅ Validate ✅ Benefit ✅ Choice.
Missing a sticker or clashes with the yellow Tone note? Edit now.
6 | Channel & messenger
Step 7: Choose delivery
Ask, “Where does this profile already listen, and who do they trust?”
Update the Channel and Messenger parts of the canvas.
Example: Legacy Keeper → 90s Loom from senior copywriter.
