About Human AI Performance
Most organisations don’t have an AI tool problem.
They have a “people aren’t using it” problem.
Human AI Performance takes a behaviour-first approach to making AI part of everyday work. When it was created, it was the only toolkit tackling AI adoption from the behavioural angle. It helps teams uncover why people aren’t using AI, fix the friction, and prove the impact, without running yet another tech-led pilot.
Designed and authored by Lauren Kelly. Delivered through a client engagement with Infosys Consulting, it was designed for real teams in finance, health, telecoms, and government who were all saying the same thing:
“We’ve got AI. People still aren’t using it.”
The problem it solves
When we looked at how people were actually working, we saw the same patterns:
People trusted AI until it made one visible mistake, then confidence dropped.
AI made conversations shorter, not better.
Extra steps, unclear ownership, and policy worries stopped people using it.
Leaders thought the answer was “more training”.
So we reframed it: AI adoption is a behaviour challenge. If you don’t design for behaviour, AI stays optional.
What Human AI Performance does
It gives organisations a simple way to:
Spot the real blocker
A 15-question diagnostic shows which lever is slowing AI down: Trust, Enable, Fit, Capability, or Adapt.Apply the right fix
Plug-and-play methods, canvases, and guidance remove that specific friction.Make it stick
Toolkits, playbooks, and clear rules make AI use visible, safe, and repeatable.Prove it works
Teams can run a 90-day pilot and show better uptake, not just “we trained people”.
All of this can be self-served, teams don’t need to wait external support.
How it’s structured
Human AI Performance is built in four connected layers:
Strategy: a clear roadmap from doubt to habit.
Diagnostic: 15 questions to find the blocker fast.
Methods: practical activities to remove friction in context.
Toolkit: cards with patterns, profiles, and playbooks so facilitators can run this with real teams.
Together, they turn AI from “nice idea” to “this is how we work now”.
Who it’s for
Organisations rolling out AI but seeing low daily use
Leaders who need to show adoption, not just licences
Change, L&D, and product teams who want plain-language tools
Teams who want to design for people, not just platforms
If your teams are quietly avoiding AI, this is for you.
Where it came from
I created this as part of a client programme with Infosys Consulting to help their teams make AI part of everyday work. It’s based on real users, real conversations, and real organisational limits. The work was shaped through a 8 week behaviour bootcamp involving leaders in design, change and tech from Accenture, Surrey County Council, Addis Ababa University, the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, and Health New Zealand.
